Ten years ago, a bridge was built in a public space in Lima city to create a pedestrian connection for the citizens of Lima with its sea, it was for 7 years an abandoned concrete structure in the middle of the shore. The stoppage of this public construction happened in the middle of the Lava Jato investigation, a corruption scandal between public authorities from several countries including Peru and Brazilian construction companies.
The goal of this project is to highlight this concrete structure by treating it as a monument.
Just like one other religious monument that is located on the same shore, this unfinished bridge can be seen as a monument to corruption and neglect from the public authorities as well as to help our fragile memory.
